D.A.R.E is a non-profit, non-partisan and non-confessional NGO. Our mission is to create awareness among the populace of the northern States of Nigeria on the hazards of wood logging and the subsequent consequence of desert encroachment it engenders. At the same time, it aims at promoting the sustainable management of natural resources as well as renewable energy sources and the use of these resources to enhance local economic growth & sustainable development by working in partnership with rural population and local entrepreneurs, across the whole country.
Our activities include environmental protection, provision of clean energy services to meet the needs of sub-urban, rural and remote areas using renewable energy technologies to provide

technology transfer and the training of local technicians,

clean drinking water supply,

electricity using PV installations,

technology transfer and the training of local technicians,
-
delivery of enterprise development services and expertise for rural companies in the clean energy sector.
D.A.R.E also aims to participate in Energy & Environment Policy Work with the Federal Government of Nigeria. Already contact has been established with major governmental organisations active in this sector.
